National Research Nuclear University MEPhI trains engineers, bachelors, and masters of science in the priority fields of science, engineering, and technologies for high-technology branches of economy, science-intensive enterprises, and for new promising fields such as biophysics, medical physics and engineering, ecology, informatics and information security, as well as specialists in economics, management, international cooperation in science and technology, managers and analytical experts for monitoring and audit of high-technology branches of the Russian and world economy.

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI proposes efficient curricula for higher and postgraduate professional educations and carries out fundamental and applied research in a wide spectrum of scientific fields.

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI is the leading higher education institution of the Russian Nuclear Innovation Consortium that was created in 2007 and united all the higher education institutions training human resources for the Russian nuclear industry in 32 engineering and more than 25 MS curricula, as well as a number of largest nuclear research centers including the Russian Research Centre Kurchatov Institute, Russian Federal Nuclear Center VNIITF, Russian Federal Nuclear Center VNIIEF, Alikhanov Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Physics, and Leipunskii Institute of Physics and Power Engineering.
