Research Division of NRNU MEPhI

The Research Division is a structural unit of the NRNU MEPhI. The main aims of the Division are the organization, analysis, and methodical management of research and innovation activity at the University.

The activity of the Division is directed to the solution of the following problems:

  • organization of planning and implementation of the research and innovation activity of the subdivisions of the University including the research and innovation activity of students;
  • organization of the participation of the divisions of the University in competitions of research and innovation projects in the framework of state programs of various levels, in the formation of the plan of subjects of the University, in competitions of grants of various foundations and international scientific institutions;
  • monitoring and analysis of the research and innovation activity of the University;
  • assistance in the integration of education, science, and manufacture, efficient cooperation with business society;
  • support of copyright protection and the organization of management of copyright at the University;
  • organization of involving of the results of the intellectual activity of the University in industry;
  • organization and conduction of scientific and engineering conferences, meetings, seminars, exhibitions, and festivals, as well as providing information about their conduction;
  • popularization of the results of research and innovation activity of the University.

According to its aims, the Division organizes the participation of scientists, academics, postgraduates, and students of the University in the Federal Programs «Scientific and Pedagogical Staff of Innovative Russia» for 2009–2013, «Research and Development in the priority directions of the development of the Scientific-Technological Complex of Russia for 2007–2011», «Development of the infrastructure of Nanoindustry in the Russian Federation for 2008–2010», and other Federal Programs, in the analytic departmental program «Development of the Scientific Potential of Higher Education (2009–2010)», and in other programs.

Research and developments are organized for the institutions of the Russian atomic industry, its defense industrial complex, and for Moscow Government.

The Division assists the conduction of research and education projects of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, International Science and Technology Center, U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation, Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, and other Russian and foreign foundations and institutions.

The Division pays considerable attention to traditional annual scientific sessions of the University (conducted at the end of January), Moscow Scientific Festival (expanding beyond Moscow), exhibitions of scientific and engineering works of youth, etc.

The Division is directly managed by the prorector of the research and innovation activity.

The Division includes the following departments:

  • department of state-budget and contract research and development works;
  • information analytical department;
  • innovation–technological department;
  • department of the management of intellectual property.

The head of the Division is Professor Aleksandr Tsybin, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics.
